How do you know you’re living in balance, thus caring for WHO you are? Read this post to discover aspects of living in balance.

Find inspiration!

We find inspiration in many places.

For example in: the actions of others, nature, or art and music. Also, we can be inspired by a life event.

Today’s Observation: We find inspiration all around us if we choose to look for it. The hard part? Acting on that inspiration, because desire alone is insufficient.

Share with us in a comment where you find inspiration.

The Precept: In Proverbs 18.1 we read that desire must be matched with both personal sacrifice (what I say NO to) and intense effort (what I do). Desire is my inner response to the inspiration outside of me.

Be an overcomer!

What’s it look like to succeed after a setback?

1). You get on with life. You’re not stuck as a victim.
2). Careful reflection produces new learning.
3). That new learning, and increased sensitivity, is a resource to be shared.

Today’s Observation: The pain of a significant setback becomes a resource for you to share with others when you’re an overcomer.

What emotions did you feel after overcoming a setback in life?

The Precept: Proverbs 21.22 teaches that the wise find a way to succeed against long odds.

What are you outgrowing?

Athletes and executives, at times, outgrow coaches.

That is, they’ve gone as far as possible with that coach, thus needing to change.

Similarly, our personal and professional growth pushes us for change.

In careers. Or, in response patterns. And in who we allow to influence us. In our self-perception.

Today’s Observation: It’s good to be aware of HOW we are growing. Then, we become sensitive to WHEN we’re outgrowing a situation or relationship. Without that knowledge, we remain uncomfortable without knowing WHY.

What are you outgrowing right now?

The Precept: From Proverbs 2.9 we learn that wisdom produces in us discernment and good judgment, hence appropriate actions, when needed.

Ah, triggers!

What triggers you?

For me, many things lead to mental hijackings!

Like slow drivers in the far left lane. Or, an unresponsive network. Also… You get the picture!

Unfortunately, knowing what the trigger is, for me at least, is very different from responding appropriately to that trigger!

Today’s Question: Ok, what triggers you?

The Precept: Proverbs 17.28 says even a fool is perceived as wise by keeping his/her mouth shut, thus showing self-control!

Aspects of living in balance

How do you know you’re living in balance, thus caring for WHO you are?

Here are three key balance points:
1). Self-awareness, I know WHO I am
2). Self-worth, I value WHO I am
3). Self-confidence, I stand up for WHO I am.

Today’s Observation: When I’m living a balanced life I am growing WHO I am right now into the WHO I envision in the future!

So, how are you doing in regard to balance?

The Precept: In Ecclesiastes 8.1 Solomon observes that becoming wise is a source of self-confidence, as expressed by a commanding presence.
