Our authentic self is a source of life power when we’re true to who we really are. Let’s discuss the power of being authentic.

Who’s Me?
Ok, what do I mean by “authentic self”? Who is that person anyway?
Our authentic self is the deepest, most genuine version of who we are. It’s the essence of our character.
Therefore, our authentic self reflects our heart.
What’s the Assumption Here?
One critical assumption is that we’re self-aware enough to recognize our authentic self.
That is, we’ve spent enough time in reflection that we clearly understand who we really are. And, what we stand for. Also, the values we hold. Honestly, we’re aware of our weaknesses and triggers.
That self-awareness is paired with a sense of our self-worth. As a result, even while we’re growing intentionally, we’re comfortable with our present, authentic self.

Authentic to What End?
But, what’s the point of knowing our authentic self? Who cares that we’re self-aware?
Well, the point is that we recognize the power of our authentic self.
Which is? Authenticity is a source of influence. People are attracted to others that are real. Trustworthy. Believable.
Most critically, our influence multiplies the more we are authentic.
We’re most impactful when we’re most authentic. Our influence multiples when we’re true to our authentic self. Proverbsforprofessionals.net
The Precept
Proverbs 10.8 teaches that the wise-hearted absorb, or soak-up, the precepts. Therefore, a precept-driven life is the source of character (heart) transformation.
When we choose to live by the eternal precepts, such as those shared in Proverbs, we transform who we are.
Moreover, as a result of that inner change, we come to know our authentic self that much better.
Apply This Today!
Knowledge isn’t power. Instead, being wise-hearted is true power when we allow the precepts to transform us so that we recognize our authentic self. In turn, we become impactful and influential.
A wise-hearted, authentic character is a deliberate choice we make.
Final thought – the photo in this post is a selfie of the author. Choosing to be our authentic self flows out of heart transformation. Unfortunately, that inner change doesn’t change our outer appearance into something dashing and handsome!
